Swanson, James T.
Age 79 of Minnetonka, born Jan. 27, 1936 in Minneapolis, to Helge & Anne Swanson, passed away October 30, 2015 after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. James served in the USMC during the Korean Conflict and was a past Commander of the Bloomington VFW, Post #1296 where he also served on the Honor Guard. James will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Opal; sons: James T. Swanson, Jr. (Claudia), Randy Swanson, Dean Swanson (Talia), Doug Myers, Keith Swanson (Kelli); grandchildren: Nicole, Natashia, Lauren, Andrew, Alyssa, Madison, Kaitlin, Sonya and Audrey; four great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy Harrison (Mike) and other family and friends. Funeral service, 11:00am, Saturday, November, 7, 2015 with visitation starting at 9:30am, at Minnetonka United Methodist Ch., 17611 Lake Street Extension, Minnetonka. James will be laid to rest Friday, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery with honors by the Bloomington VFW Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made.
