James Patrick Robinson

James P Robinson, age 87, of Hastings, passed away March 24, 2026.

He was born in Chicago Illinois on December 6, 1938 to Elizabeth and Edgar Robinson. Raised by his Grandma Julia. He was married to Sandra on August 15, 1969.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He was proud of his service in the Navy. Jim could often be found listening to music by the pool. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, darts and playing pool in leagues. He delighted in dancing with his wife and the occasional trip to TI. But most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Julia; his parents, and his sister, Joyce.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Joleen (John), Darin (AJ), Rob (Stacey), and Brady (Stacy); grandchildren, Michael, Lauryn, Rachel, Adryanne, Nick, Taylor, Mackenzie, Carsyn, and Brady; 19 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

A special thank you to the Benedictine staff in Hastings, Grace Hospice, and all of the family and friends who have helped the last couple of months.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St. in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
