James R. Bergum

Bergum, James R. Age 46, of Lakeville, died May 26, 2006 in a car accident that also claimed the life of his daughter, Grace. Preceded in death by his father, Ronald James Bergum and grandparents. Survived by loving wife of 25 years, Geralynn; daughter, Katie; son, Jacob; mother, Marjorie; siblings, Mary (Fidel) Hughes, Ed (Molly), Janet (Steve) Tybus, Bill, Dale (Tracy), and Alan (Brenda). Jim was born in Grand Forks, ND and married Geralynn Joy Briske on February 7, 1981 and graduated from UND. He was a longtime and dedicated employee of the Lockeed-Martin Corp. where he served as a Computer Systems Integration Engineer working with military applications. Jim was recently awarded the corporations 2006 Award for Excellence for his contribution on an international C4ISR initiative. He was a gracious and humble man, a devoted father and husband, a loyal and giving friend and a hard worker with unique skills which he used freely to the benefit of others. Jim was a longtime member of Eden Baptist Church in Savage and a man of quiet faith whose hope was in the salvation provided by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Funeral Service 11 AM Saturday, June 3rd at Berean Baptist Church, 309 E. Co. Rd 42, Burnsville. Vistation Friday 5-8 PM at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave, Apple Valley. Interment later this summer in North Dakota. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
