James Edward Kemper

Jim E. Kemper, age 83 of Apple Valley, passed away on October 8, 2025. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Lucy; brother, Bob; sister, Kristine; and sister-in-law, Peg. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy; sister, Colleen (Bud) Garland; brothers, Bernard (Maggie), Fred, and Ed Jr. (Alfil); sister-in-law, Gloria; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jim’s passion was cars – he was an active member of the Southern Cruiser’s Car Club, and previously a member of the River Bend Car Club. He was also a member of a breakfast group that would take turns planning their activities to try out new spots and visit places to learn about cars. Jim enjoyed outdoor activities like yardwork and gardening. He was a carpenter and a talented woodworker. Jim loved taking “cruises” with his wife, Judy, and friends from his breakfast group. Funeral at 11am on Thurs., Oct. 16, 2025, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Pine Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
