James Jerome "Jim" Lucius, age 76, of Hastings, passed away on April 13, 2022. He was born to Jerome and Dorothy (Thomes) Lucius in Red Wing, MN on January 5, 1946. After graduating from Hastings High School in 1964, Jim enlisted in the Army National Guard in March of 1966. He received an Honorable Discharge, and accepted a position with the Uniformed Division of the Secret Service in 1971. He retired after serving 20 years, supporting five Presidential Administrations. Jim also enjoyed woodworking and was very enthusiastic about exercise and physical fitness. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda; parents, Jerome and Dorothy; brother in law, Eddie Kimmes; and nephew, Jeff Kimmes. Jim is survived by his wife, Ann Riley; step children, Elizabeth (Colleen) Fisher, Nathan (Shannon) Hermanson, and Kevin Hermanson; step grandchildren, Oliver and Ezra Hermanson; siblings, Barbara Kimmes, Judy (Dennis) Benson, Mary (Alan) Hansen, and Richard (Julie) Lucius; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Mike Tix, will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St. and one hour prior to mass at church on Thursday. Interment will follow mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Trier. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
