James F. Bergeland

Age 89 of Burnsville, peacefully passed away on August 25th.  He was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  James is survived by daughter-in-law Denise Bergeland, daughters Susan Wahid and Kari (Joel) Deering, sons Chuck, Bill (Anna), and Brad (Melanie).  He will be greatly missed by his 16 grandchildren/spouses and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings: Orton, Luther, Helen Bennett, Martin (Carol), and sister-in-law Anita Bergeland. Preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, son Thomas, brothers Harlowe and Ralph, and sister Mavis. He valued his time with family and friends above all else. He was often heard saying how proud he was of his loved ones. Jim had a very successful 49 year career with Firestone/ Bridgestone. Because of his Christian faith, he was at peace knowing his sins were forgiven.   A gathering will be held on Tuesday, August 28th from 5 – 8 PM at Henry W. Anderson Funeral Home in Apple Valley. On August 29th, a visitation will be from 11-noon at St. James Lutheran Church, 3650 Williams Drive, Burnsville followed by a worship service and luncheon. Memorials preferred which will be dedicated by the family.
