James Allen "Jim" Stam, age 80 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 17, 2021. James A., the son of Charles and Marion (Fremouw) Stam Sr., was born on October 3, 1941, in Faribault. Jim attended school in Northfield prior to his life-long career as a Plastic Extruder Operator. Over the years, Jim worked at various companies including Plastic Profiles Inc. and Climatech Inc., and later in maintenance at Treasure Island prior to retiring. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Jim also enjoyed the opportunity to read the Bible and listen to Gospel music. He was a talented guitar player and played with the Giggs & Branded Men Band. In his younger years, Jim was also a Golden Gloves Boxer. On February 18, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary Partington in Dakota County, and she later preceded him in death on November 14, 1996. He later married Sharon Heimer on July 10, 1999 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe (Anita) Stam; brother-in-law, Tom Berres; and by his first wife, Mary. Jim is survived by, wife, Sharon; daughters, Tammy (Mike) Schriever, Tracy Martin, and Tara (David) LeBrun; step-sons, Charles (Laura) Parker and Patrick Parker; grandchildren, Joseph (Elizabeth) Schriever, Mark (Rubai) Brown, Courtney (Joe) Munson, Brandon (Heather) Stam, and Emily Martin; eleven great grandchildren; siblings, Charlotte Berres, Charles Stam Jr., Linda Nelson, and Donna Elwood; and by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and to a reception immediately following the burial, all at the funeral home on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Jim. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
