Jacqueline Rae Norton

Jacqueline R. Norton, age 68 of Hastings, died peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at her home. Jacqueline Rae, the daughter of Raymond and Uthehel (Briley) Menuey, was born on July 31, 1946 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family and friends. Jacqueline also loved going to the cabin up north. She will always be remembered for having an open heart to anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jacqueline is survived by her children, Lowell Norton, Les Norton, Kibbie (Rich) Claflin and Aaron (Emily) Norton; her step-children, Mark (Gloria) Norton, Sue (Steve) Urman, and Dana (Vickie) Norton; her 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; her loving partner of 16 years, Kenneth Chavie; her brother, Donald Menuey; and by other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings with Gordon Gathright officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
