Jack Wayne Jones

Jack Wayne Jones, Hastings, MN, formerly of St. Cloud, MN, died on March 29, 2026 in Hastings, MN. Jack was born to Donald L. & Jeanne K. Jones in Eau Claire, WI, March 27, 1947.

Jack married Doris May Reuter on January 26, 1974 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, MN. They made their home in St. Paul, MN until 1980 when they moved their family to St. Cloud, MN.

Jack resided in the St Cloud area for almost 40 years, where he was very active at the Countryside Seventh Day Adventist church, holding many titles including ordained deacon, Sabbath school treasurer & church secretary. In 2017, Jack moved to Hastings, MN to be closer to his daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Jack loved spending time with his family - no matter the occasion - he always arrived early and stayed until the end. Jack loved to tell jokes and to see those around him laugh and smile. He loved to play cards - especially Solitaire or Rummy 500 - with anyone who dared to take him on - but especially with his granddaughters. Above all else, he was a devoted Christian and he loved his family - he considered being a dad and grandpa the highest honor - he was always there for all of us & never missed an event, big or small. In recent years, the arrival of his great-grandchildren brought him unimaginable joy - his face always lit up when Hank (or “Nate” - as grandpa called him) and baby Aelin came to visit.

Jack is survived by his children: Dorine Marie (Jones) Geurts (Joshua) of New Trier, MN and Jonathan Patrick Jones of Kimball, MN, granddaughters: Allison May Geurts of Farmington and Victoria Lynette (Geurts) Hartl (Nolan) of Cannon Falls, and Jack’s greatest joy, his great-grandchildren: Hank Williams Hartl and Aelin May Hartl. Siblings: Bonita (Jones) Philabert and Randy Jones (Yvonne), sisters in law: Shirley & Christy Jones, Robin Bost, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife Doris May (Reuter) Jones in 1991, parents Jeanne Katherine (Hoffman)Jones, Donald Leslie Jones & siblings: Donald, Gary and Kevin Jones, Debra Olson, Brothers in law: Lyle Olson, Jean Philabert and his nephew Juel Olson.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 10, at 12:00 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings, MN, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A reception will follow at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice in Jack's memory.
