Irvin N. Karnick

Irvin N. Karnick, age 81, of Coates died October 6, 2011 at his home. Irvin was born on April 16, 1930 in Hastings to Milton and Helen (Meier) Karnick. He worked as a MN DOT driver for many years prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ann (Pearson) Karnick in 1990; second wife Frances L. (Serres) Karnick in 2010; sister Leona Tuman; brother Harry Karnick; brothers-in-law Matt Siebenaler, Fritz and Jerry Frandrup and Bud Tuman. Irvin is survived by his children Linda (Anthony) Burr of Hastings, Patricia (Bruce) Frandrup of Hampton, Nancy Karnick of Rosemount and Raymond (Donna) Karnick of Hastings; grandchildren Gary, Samantha and Shane Samuels, Kaitlyn and Kelsey Frandrup, Makayla, Haley, Sara and Nicholas Karnick; 5 step-children; 11 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; siblings Evelyn Siebenaler of Hastings, Marvin (Rita) Karnick of Rosemount, Clarence (Marge) Karnick of Coates, Delores Frandrup of Hastings and Dora Mae Frandrup of Hastings; sister-in-law Frances Karnick of Apple Valley. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Richard Mahoney will be held at 10:30AM Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Agatha�s Catholic Church in Coates. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment with full military honors provided by the Hastings V.F.W. Lyle Russell Post #1210 will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. The pallbearers are Gary Samuels, Shane Samuels, Paul Karnick, Jay Frandrup, Milton Karnick and Carl Geischen.
