Ione M Christenson

Ione M. Christenson, age 96, formerly of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2013, at Augustana Health Care Center in Apple Valley, MN. Ione was born to Robert and Gladys (Lundberry) Struthers on a farm near Craig, NE. Ione graduated from Criag, NE High School in 1934. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl E Christenson on December 28, 1934. Ione and Carl owned and operated several businesses in Nebraska, Colorado and Santa Barbara, CA. Ione is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, Carl; brother, Robert Struthers. She is survived by her children, Marilyn of Lewiston, NY; Larry of Eagan, MN; her twin sister, Creone Thurber of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday (4/13), 5:30 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, MN. Gathering will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
