Age 89 of Apple Valley. Passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on 01/01/2016. Herb was a retired Lt. Commander in the Navy and he was the retired Minneapolis City Accessor. Herb loved to travel, enjoyed lake life & was an avid golfer. In high school he was on the ski jumping team. He loved to dance & loved his Swedish heritage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; son, John; granddaughter, Shannon; and brother, Erick. Herbert is survived by his son, Steven (Jane); daughter, Christine; grandchildren, Shalene (Mike), Selena (Shawn) & Jessica (Tyler); 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Chuck); very special friend, Florence; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial service 11 AM, Thursday, January 14th at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley with a visitation 1 hr. prior to the service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
