Helen Louise (King) Williams

Helen L. King Williams, age 95, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2016, at Alamance Regional Hospital in Burlington, North Carolina. She had moved to North Carolina in 2009 to be closer to family. Helen Louise, the daughter of Frank and Louise (Mahler) King, was born on March 31, 1921 in Cloverland, Wisconsin. Following her education, Helen was united in marriage to Arthur E. "Spunky" Williams in Northfield, MN. She was a lifelong resident of Hastings where she had a long career as a dietitian at the State Hospital in Hastings.Helen was also a long-time member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Hastings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. (Sparky) Williams and her grandson, Anthony E. (Tony) Williams. Helen is survived by her only child, Kenneth A. (Cheryl) Williams of Burlington, NC; her grandchildren, Randall Pundzus of Maple Grove, MN, Christine Williams of Carrboro, NC, and Melissa (Matthew) Williams Toper of Graham, NC; her five great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 atOur Saviour's Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 West Ninth Street in Hastings, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings, MN. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
