Helen C. Waldow

Helen Cornell Waldow, age 85 of Hastings died Monday, November 11, 2013 at her residence. Helen was born December 11, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN to Clarence and Henrietta (Oldenkamp) Gelder. She was a graduate of Farmington High School and received her nursing degree from Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Helen married Richard Waldow on April 24, 1953 in Minneapolis and worked as a Registered Nurse at Regina Hospital from 1953 � 1990. She was former president of the Regina Hospital Auxiliary, former treasurer for Al-Anon, worked with the Red Cross Blood Drives and was an active volunteer with her church and the entire community. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; brother Clarence Gelder and sister Catherine George. Helen is survived by her sister June Reinfeld of Denver, CO and seven nephews. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Jonathan Zimpelmann will be held 11 AM Friday, November 15 at St. John�s Ev. Lutheran Church, 202 West Eighth St, Hastings. Visitation will be held at the church two hours prior to the service. Interment will be held at St. John�s Cemetery � Rich Valley in Rosemount, MN. The pallbearers ar James, Stephen, Brian, Tom, John and Dan Ameluxen. Memorials are preferred to the Regina Hospital Auxiliary.
