Helen C. Hiniker

Helen Catherine Hiniker, passed away December 11, 2018 at Ecumen Lakeview Commons. She lived a fulfilled life of 98 years. Helen and Jim enjoyed life to the fullest. They were avid bridge players. They enjoyed golf and the values golf brought to their family. They worked as partners for over 20 years at Hiniker Bowling Lanes. After retiring they enjoyed traveling and watching the Friar Tucks and Buccaneer softball teams. As Helen's memory aged, she remembered and was proud to tell her friends, 'these are my sons, they followed in their father’s footsteps and are Notre Dame graduates.' She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James John Hiniker; and her parents. Helen is survived by her daughter, Susan (Tom) O'Rourke; sons, James (Kathryn Roberts), and William (Rosalyn) Farb; her grandchildren, Tommy (Maria) O'Rourke, Kelly (Owen) Jensen, Jay (Betsy) Hiniker, Michael (Kerri) Hiniker, Alexandra (Kiel) Hausler, Angie (Todd) Petit, Amy (Justin) Robert, Jacob (Tamika) Hiniker; and 25 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel at Regina Senior Living, 1175 Nininger Road, Hastings on Thursday (12/13) at 10:30 AM. A gathering will take place from 10:00 - 10:30 AM at Regina Chapel. A reception will be held immediately following the celebration at the Green Mill Restaurant, 909 Vermillion St., Hastings. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. We would like to thank the staff of Ecumen Lakeview Commons for the outstanding care of our mother.
