Harry M. Keene, age 87, of Hastings passed away peacefully, surrounded by family after a brief illness on May 30, 2011. Harry was born August 7, 1923 in Hastings to Russell and Mabel (Orr) Keene. He was a 1941 graduate of Hastings High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Lois Wildes on March 24, 1948 in Hastings and had farmed in Denmark Township for many years prior to his retirement in 1986. He was an American Legion member. He was preceded in death by his son Scott; both parents; brothers Wayne �Buck� and Tom; and his sister Gayle Wolfe. Harry is survived by his wife Lois; sons Dwight (Renee) and Kevin; his grandchildren Jesse (Nichole), Abby, Luke (Anne); and his great-grandson Zachary Scott; his sisters Oralee (Jim) McNamara, Marlyn (Robert) Duffy, and Barbara (Chuck) Prokosch; also many nieces, nephews, and friends. The Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Frank Van De Steeg and Robert Langenfeld will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the St. Luke�s Episcopal Church, Seventh and Vermillion Streets in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The interment, with military honors provided by the Hastings V.F.W. Lyle Russell Post #1210 will be held in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke�s Episcopal Church inHastings.
