Passed away peacefully following a short battle with ALS in Lakeville, Minnesota on July 21, 2016 at the age of 66. Survived by his wife of 42 years Charlene Ostendorf, nee Johnson; children, Melissa “Liz” Thiel and her husband Matthew of Overland Park, KS; Matthew Ostendorf and his wife Jessica of Roseville, MN; and Michael Ostendorf and his fianc? Amanda Kazmierkoski of North St. Paul, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Rita Ostendorf of Chicago, IL. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27 from 4-7 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13901 Fairview Dr., Burnsville, MN. The funeral will be Thursday, July 28 at 11 am at Prince of Peace with a visitation one hour prior. Interment following at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
