Harold S. Berg

Harold S. Berg, age 89, of Lakeville, formerly Hastings, passed away December 10, 2016 at Prescott Nursing & Rehabilitation Community in Prescott, WI. He was born in Granite Falls, MN to Reuben and Esther Berg on February 21, 1927. He was married in Blaine, MN on January 1, 1980 to his wife, Virginia. Harold was very active in the American Legion, holding many positions throughout the years. He was Membership Director, Vice Commander for the State, and was a Past Commander of Post 47. He was also active in the Sons of the Legion, and Forty and Eight. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, son, David; and sister, Juliet. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; son, Jon (Jody) Berg, their child, Cathy (Tony) their grandchildren, Callie Jo and Colton; daughter-in-law, Pat, her children, Ryan (Tiffany) and Dylan, her grandchildren, Tanner, Ryan Grace and Lexi; Virginia's children, Larry (Beverly) and their children, Nick (Raeanna) and Chris (Jen) and their grandchildren, Tyson and Keatyn; Kim and her children, Michael (Marissa), Spencer (Liz) and Tyler (Jenna) and her grandchildren, Eleanor and Ethan; David and his son, Derek; and Jane. A memorial service will be held on Thursday (12/15) at 11:00 AM at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be later at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
