Harold C. Bauer

There's now a polka party in heaven. Harold Bauer, husband, father, farmer and friend passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the age of 93. Harold was born September 27, 1927 to Nicholas and Margaret Bauer. Harold was an award winning dairy farmer, working his parent's farm in Hastings until 1970 and then farming in Maiden Rock, WI. In his later years he worked landscaping at several area golf courses retiring at age 89. Harold was married to Viola Kapsner Bauer for 48 years and had 5 children. He loved polka dancing, visiting his friends and family and you could catch him slapping his knee and yelling at the TV while watching WWE "rasslin". Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Viola; sons, Joey and James; his parents; and 11 siblings. He is survived by daughters, Jeanne and Jo Ann; and son, Joe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 4th at 11am at the Starkson Family Celebration of Life Chapel 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings, MN 55033. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the funeral home. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery.
