Gotthard B. Rohling

Gotthard B. Rohling, age 84, of Hastings, died June 15, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul.Gotthard was born in Freeport, MN on April 22, 1925 to Henry and Amelia (Stangler) Rohling. He was united in marriage to Veronica Piekarski on April 21, 1956 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in S. St. Paul. He was employed as a Boiler Engineer at Regina Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Gotthard was a member of the Knights of Columbus.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Al and Ed; sisters, Hildegard, Alvina, Dorothy and Sally.Gotthard is survived by his wife, Veronica; sister, Eleanor (Cliff) Mitchell of Albany; many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. James Perkl, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth St., Hastings, followed by interment at St. Patrick�s Cemetery, Inver Grove Heights. The visitation will be 5:00-7:00PM, Thursday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the Friday service at church. The pallbearers will be Dean Mitchell, Doug Schlicker, Roger Ohmann, Ron Ohmann, Greg Piekarski, and Al Krech. Memorials are preferred to donor�s choice.
