Gladys V. Westland

Gladys V. Westland, age 93, of Hastings died March 27, 2012 at Regina Nursing Home. Gladys was born November 25, 1918 in Fertile Township, Iowa to Ole and Anna (Ramsey) Tweed, andwas a graduate of Fertile High School in Fertile, Iowa. Gladys married Lewine A. Westland on June 6, 1942 in Nashua, Iowa and worked at Smead Manufacturing for 25 years prior to her retirement.She enjoyed traveling, wintering in Arizona and spending time with her grandchildren. According to her family �Gladys crocheted like the wind�. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 8 siblings. Gladys is survived by her children Carole Jean (Richard) Kirtz of Hastings, Mike (Ann) Westland of Hastings and Julie (Norman) Zurfluh of Rosemount; also8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and her sister Iona Mae Alexander of Waukegan, IL. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2012 at Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 W. Ninth St., Hastings with visitation held one hour prior to service at church. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.Pallbearers are David Kirtz, Brian Kirtz, Eric Westland, Kevin Westland, Jeffrey Zurfluh and Patrick Dowell. Honorary Pallbearers are Lisa Fritze, Debbie Dowell and Amy Willkomm.
