Gladys Rose Swanson

Gladys Rose Swanson, age 80, of Hastings, passed away at home on February 9, 2015. She was born in Hastings to Leo and Marie Kasel on June 18, 1934. She married Sherman “Pete” Swanson at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings on November 21, 1953. Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Pete; parents, Leo and Marie Kasel; grandchildren, Matthew; Brian; and Peyton; siblings, Wyman Kasel; Leo Kasel; Mary Hullander; and daughter in law, Frankie. She is survived by her children, Mark; Lance; Mary “Ginger”; Grant; Pam (Brad); Bonnie (Bruce); Dianne; Rosie; and Angela; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine; Diane (Craig); other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. (2/14) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. on Saturday at church. Her grandsons, Peter Swanson; Michael Swanson; Robert Swanson; Todd Whipple; Chris Koster; Jordon Swanson; and T. J. Place will serve as pallbearers. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred. The Wise Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
