Gladyce Eileen Pierson

Gladyce Eileen Pierson, 93, of Apple Valley and formerly of Minneapolis, passed away Saturday surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 30, 1920 in Lost Island Township, Iowa to Oliver T. and Emma T. (nee Akre) Lande. Gladyce is survived by her daughters Patricia (Harold) Sanderson and Leah (Ken) Peden, grandchildren Angie (Jason) Mahowald, Holly (David) Hins, Jill (Stewart) Simpson, Brad (Amanda) Peden, and Gretchen Sanderson, great-grandchildren Landon, Lande, Logan, Maddie, Ryal, Macyn, Jack, and Avery, sister Bernetta Hirsch, and brother Kent Lande. She was preceded in death by her husband John, son Daniel, sisters Maxine Borman and Genevieve Karkota, and brothers Arnold, Oliver, jr., and Maynard Lande. Gladyce’s kindness and dedication to her family will be forever treasured, and that legacy lives on. The coffee pot’s on! Memorial Services are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, August 8 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley (952) 432-2331, with a Gathering of Family and Friends 1 hour prior. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Windom at a later date. Memorials are preferred.
