Gertrude Leifeld

Gertrude M. Leifeld, age 102, of Hastings, passed away October 24, 2012. She was born in Bird Island, MN to Frank and Anna Dummer on April 7, 1910. She married Peter Leifeld in South St. Paul in 1928.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; daughters, Genevieve Wahlstrom; Loretta Van Gundy; Lucille Nogle; and Theresa Leifeld; son, Leonard Leifeld; grandson, Bob Wahlstrom Jr.; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; sons-in-law, Donald Serres and Lawrence Nogle. She is survived by daughters, Bernice (Nicholas) Otto; Patricia Serres; Marcy (Bob) Gabbert; 29 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 34 great great grandchildren; sons-in-law, Robert Wahlstrom and Allen Van Gundy; and many other relatives and friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. (10/27) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings. A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the mass at church. Pallbearers are Kevin Gabbert; Annette Van Gundy; Michael Serres; Tommy Wahlstrom; Ronald Otto; and Gerald Otto. Interment St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery.
