George Mantel

George Gary Mantel

Age 76 of Minneapolis, born January 12, 1941 in Devils Lake, ND to Andrew and Dorothy Mantel, passed away peacefully with family at his side, January 2, 2018.  Gary retired after 20 plus years from the University of Minnesota in Facilities Management.  He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Carla Mantel (Derek “Duck” Washington); sons, Gary Michael Mantel (Boupha Phomma), and Timothy Mantel (Matt Gerber); grandchildren: Erika, Tyler and Brandon; great-grandsons, Paxton and Damien “DJ”; brother, Tedd Mantel and other family and friends.  Visitation, 4-7 pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 and again, one hour before the service Thursday, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23^rd Ave. S., Mpls.  Memorial service, 11 AM, Thursday, January 18^th with visitation one hour before, at the mortuary.  Memorials may be made to MARS; Midwest Animal Rescue & Services.
