George J. Brockman Jr.

George J. Brockman Jr., age 68, of Hastings died unexpectedly December 4, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul. George was born at New Trier on January 14, 1941 to George J. and Mathilda (Siebenaler) Brockman. He married Joyce (McDonald) January 18, 1964 in New Trier. George was retired from CF Industries after 33 years of employment. He was a lover of camping and had a passion for bartending. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Jimmy. George is survived by his wife of 45 years Joyce of Hastings; daughter Deb (Tim) Shull of Hastings; sons Mark Brockman of St. Paul and Brad Brockman of Minnetonka; grandchildren Brittany and Brandon; brother Darold (Dee Dee) Brockman of Vermillion; sisters Judy Myers of Sierra Vista, AZ, Karen Balster of Hastings and Beatrice Blackowiack of San Diego, CA; also by many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 Seventh Street East, Hastings, MN and also on Wednesday at the church for 1 hour prior to the funeral. The Funeral Mass officiated by Rev. James Perkl will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 Fifteenth Street West, Hastings, MN. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers are Tom Balster, Randy Brockman, Tim McDonald, Dan McDonald, Paul Linder and Ray Butzler.
