George E. Ross

George E. Ross, age 86, of Hastings died February 5, 2012 at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings.George was born April 10, 1925 to Carl Ella (Phalen) Ross in Hammond WI. After graduating from Hammond High School in 1943 he joined the Navy and served as a Seaman 1st class during World War II. He was a lifeong member of the VFW and American Legion. Georgemarried Mary Jane (Murray) Ross in May of 1972. He worked as a Director at various treatment centers and also served as a City Councilman for the City of Hastings. Georgewas preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Jane, who was also his best friend, his parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by 3 sisters, many nieces and nephews and his Regina family.The Memorial Service officiated by Fr. Robert Altierwill be11:00 AM Thursday at the Regina Chapel, 1175 Nininger Rd., Hastings. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Lyle-Russell Post 1210. Memorials are preferred.
