Genevieve M. Ficker

Genevieve M. Ficker, age 90, of Hastings, passed away on October 30, 2009. She was born on February 22, 1919 to Peter and Jane Peterson in Nicollet, MN. She married Albert Ficker in 1945 in Hampton, MN. Genevieve was a beautician in Hampton and Hastings for over 40 years, and ran Gen's Beauty Shop on 5th Street. She was a member of People of Praise Christian Community and was an avid card player, cook, gardener, and loved to sew and crochet. Genevieve is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; son, Richard Schroeder ; grand-daughter Kelly Schroeder; parents; brothers and sisters. She is survived by children, Connie (Mary) Schroeder of Elk River; Bob (Geri) Schroeder of Minneapolis; Mary Jane Spillman of Mesa, AZ; Al (Deb) Ficker of Hastings; Pat (Patricia) Ficker of Hastings; 21 grand-children; and her great-grandchildren.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, (11/4) at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be held Tuesday, (11/3) from 4-8pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and 1 hour prior to the service. Interment St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Wise Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
