Gayle Keene Varien Wolf

Gayle Keene Varien Wolf, age 82, passed away August 12th, 2010 surrounded by her loving family in her home in Prescott, Wisconsin. She was born April 11th, 1928 to Russell and Mable (Orr) Keene in Hastings, Minnesota. She was part of the marching unit at the Legion and the Hastings Alumni Association. Gayle was also an active member at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She will be fondly remembered for her enthusiasm for garage sales, being a friend to everyone, an accomplished conversationalist, and being a 'nurse to the neighborhood'.Gayle will be sadly missed by her children and step-children: Thomas (Bonnie) Varien of Minneapolis, Stevan (Joan) Varien of Hastings, Peggy Varien of Hastings, Gerry (Jan) Wolf and Grant (Mary) Wolf of Prescott, Wisconsin. Grandchildren and Step-Grandchildren: Corey (Holly) Brunson, Wesley Brunson, Stevan (Julie) Lunde, Nicholas (Bree) Varien, Kurt Varien, Eliza (Michael) Varien, Greta Varien, Luke Varien, Darby (Dean) Hartmann, Jenna Firle, Grant, Matthew and Aaron Wolf. Great Grandchildren: Charles Kaden Varien, Gunnar Niemeyer, Grace and Evan Lunde, Colton and Ayden Wolf. Siblings: Harry (Lois) Keene, Oralee (Jim) McNamara, Marlyn (Robert 'Duff') Duffy, and Barbara (Charles) Prokosch. Sisters-in-Law: Shirley Keene and Kaye Keene.She is preceded in death by husbands: Robert Varien and Glenn Wolf. Parents: Russell and Mable Keene. Step-daughter: Glenna Wolf. Brothers: Wayne 'Buck' Keene and Tom Keene.Gayle's memorial service will be Saturday, August 21st, 2010 at 10am at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion Street, Hastings. There will a one hour visitation prior to the start of the service. A Celebration of Life Party will follow the memorial service at the Legion Hall, 50 Sibley Street, Hastings. Interment services will be private. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Hastings. Arrangements were made with the Wise Funeral Home, 651-437-3752.
