Gayla Rae Brochman

Gayla Rae Brochman, age 68, of Hastings, passed away Nov. 6, 2014 at Regina Medical Center. She was born in Hastings on Feb. 25, 1946 to Emmett and Theola (Hubley) Plan. She married Joe Brochman on a snowy day January 13, 1968 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. She loved her job, and looked forward to every day for the 26 years she taught Title One to the 2nd and 3rd graders at Kennedy Elementary. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved nothing more than to brag about them any chance she got. Gayla is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terance “Terry” Plan. She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughters, Amy (Todd) Moser of Crystal; and Nancy (Jon) Reuter of St. Louis Park; grandchildren, Malachi; Stephanie; and Elizabeth; brothers, sisters, and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday (11/10) at 3:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A gathering will be held on Sunday (11/9) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the mass at church on Monday.
