Gary L. Ginther, age 74, of Hastings passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side August 13, 2023.
Gary was passionate about snowmobiling. He was an active member of the Hastings SnoMos Club and president of the Dakota County Trails Association. Gary enjoyed motorcycling, boating on the St. Croix River, and golfing. In his retirement he would fix and build computers from scratch. He was always building something in the garage. It was because of this reason that his friends coined the term "Gintherizing." He had a long and successful career in sales at J&W Instruments, located in New Brighton, MN. He retired in 2011. Gary and Betty enjoyed many cruise trips to many great places. Their favorites being snorkeling in the Caribbean and the South Pacific.
Preceded in death by his mother, Ma Jean, and step-father Harry "Pops" Johnson; sister, Peggy (Alan) Paxton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Betty; children, Jennifer Hutcheson, and Gary Jr. (Jenny Witt) Ginther; grandchildren, Christopher & Rachel Hutcheson; great-grandson, Isaac Hutcheson; siblings, Carol Schroeder, John (Liz) Ginther, George Ginther, Virginia (Dan) Wipperfurth, Patricia (Jeff) Langenfeld, Bill Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
