Age 67 of Minneapolis, born August 18, 1945 in Minneapolis, to Helmer and Ellen Hawkinson, passed away February 11, 2013. Gary proudly served his country in the U.S.M.C. during Vietnam and also served as Commander for the VFW. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anne. He will be missed by his sister, Marilynn (David)Boorsma; nephews: Mark (Mary), Paul and Peter (Jennifer) Boorsma; nieces, Kari (Billy) Woodson and Heidi (Kurt) Kloskin; 10 great-nieces & nephews; special friend, Kathleen Jeffrey and his dog, Maxwell. Funeral service, 1:00 PM, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 with visitation one hour before at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. So., Mpls. Gary will be laid to rest with his wife at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made.
