Garrita G. Emerson

Garrita G. Emerson, age 92, of Hastings, passed away October 13, 2013 at home. She was born January 15, 1921 in Boyceville, Wisconsin. Garrita was the only child of Otto and Elizabeth Hegeman. She married Harold Emerson in Glenwood, WI on November 8, 1940. In 1948 the family moved to Hastings, where she was a homemaker and employed at Smeads manufacturing for 27 years until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughters, Judy Kingsley and Sharon Franklin; and grandson, David. She is survived by children, Robert (Shannan) of River Falls; Jerome (Jean) of Hastings; Jean (William) Frame of Farmington; Douglas (Linda) of Hastings; Carol Kampa of Hastings; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday (10/18) from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. Interment will be Sat. (10/19) at 10:00 a.m. at Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville, WI. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
