Francis M. Rego

Francis M. Rego, age 86 of Hastings died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at Augustana Care Hastings.Francis was born January 3, 1930 to Thomas and Mary (Neary) Regoin Bunker Hill, WI and was a graduate of high school at Cazenovia, WI in 1948. He served in the Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. Francis married Frances Stout on October 14, 1950 in Cazenovia. He was a machinist at 3M for 27 years prior to his retirement.Francis was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Eric Rego; and by 7 siblings.He is survived by his wife Frances; six children Steven (Jacki) Rego, Mark (Sonia) Rego, Bonnadine (Charles) Shaleen, John Rego, Paul Rego and Phyllis (Mark) Chambers; also 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; a brother Cyril Rego and sister Patricia Dolan.A Private Funeral Service will be held followed by interment in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post # 1210.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
