Francis B. Moritz

Francis B. �Fritz� Moritz, age 91, of Hastings, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at Augustana Care Center. Francis was born May 9, 1917 near Iona, MN to Bernard and Anna (Fiedler) Moritz. He served in the Army during WWII, and was united in marriage to Monica Hermeling on August 13, 1946. Fritz was a Farm Implement Mechanic at Bahls Implement of Hastings until his retirement.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Monica, brothers: Leo, Jim, Joe, Ray, Allen, Edward, sister, Delores Humphrey, son, Tom, son-in-law, Ed Murphy, and great granddaughter, Ashley Christiansen. He is survived by his children: Beverly Murphy of Waterloo, IA, Richard (Linda) Moritz of Danbury, WI, Jo (Robert) Siebenaler of Hastings, Robert (Lorie) Moritz of Siren, WI, Roger (Joyce) Moritz of Danbury, WI, Cindy (Bob) Rehm of Hastings, daughter-in-law, Deb Pitt of Finlayson, MN, 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, brother, Dale Moritz of New Roads, LA, and sister, Theresa Pachall of Walnut Grove, MN.The Memorial Mass will be 10AM Friday, February 20, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 Fifteenth St. W, Hastings, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210 will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
