Frances M. Byrne, “Frannie”
Age 96 of Minneapolis, born June 22, 1917 in Norfolk, VA, passed away April 26, 2014. Frannie was a graduate of Roosevelt H.S. class of ’35, longtime office manager of Gypsum George Drywall Supply, Co., active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Ch. in many aspects and a professed member of the Dominican Laity, member of the former #1149 VFW Aux., 9th Ward DFL Club member, Head Election Judge in Precinct #9-16, 3rd Precinct M.P.D. Adv. Council Secretary, Former President NALC Aux. #67 and Past President of Ladies of Columbus #435. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; daughter, Mary Honkanen and infant son, Kevin. Frannie will be dearly missed by her children: Hugh (Marlene), Anna-Marie Byrne and Patrick (Gwynne); son-in-law, Kenneth Honkanen; grandchildren: Julie (Jim) Sanborn, Michael (Bridget) Honkanen, June Byrne (Will Shand), Colleen (Terry) Larson and Kevin Byrne; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; special friends: Sharon Hagen, Connie Reiners and Jane Herby and other family and friends. Special thanks to the caring staff at Providence Place N.H. Visitation, 5-7pm, with prayers at 7pm, Tuesday, April 29, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. S., Mpls and also one hour before the service at church on Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00am, Wed. April 30, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2424 18th Ave. S., Mpls. Frannie will be laid to rest with her husband, Joseph at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
