Frances L. "Fran" Schneider

Frances "Fran" Schneider, age 82 of Hastings, died peacefully on Sunday morning, November 8, 2020, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Frances Louise, the daughter of William and Caroline (Keller) Wagner, was born on January 16, 1938, in rural Dakota County, Minnesota. Following her graduation from Hastings High School, Fran was united in marriage to John Schneider. Fran began working at Koch Refinery before her longtime career of working at various schools. She enjoyed the friendships with both her coworkers and students, and eventually retired from the District Office in Hastings. In 2003, Fran was united in marriage to Warren Quade. Fran lived life to the fullest, and cherished the time spent with family and friends. She was a die-hard Christmas decorator, and would often times spend at least a month getting everything set up. Fran was also a dedicated volunteer in the Hastings area, and she specifically enjoyed spending time with her friends at Regina Auxiliary and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Lu Ann Stoffel and Bud Wagner; sister-in-law, Pat Wagner; brother-in-law, Donald Meyer; and by her former husband, John Schneider. Fran is survived by her children, Kolleen Schneider (Bryan Massman) and Kyle Schneider (friend, Johanna Tufte); grandchildren, Alex and Anna Schneider; siblings, Leila Meyer, Larry Wagner, and W.V. "Butch" (Jeannie) Wagner; sister-in-law, Claudia Wagner; former husband and good friend, Warren Quade; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. A Celebration of Fran's Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery. As we all know, Fran always wore bright and festive attire, so we're requesting no black for the service, rather wear something she would approve. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Fran's family requests memorials be donated to Regina Auxiliary or to the donor's choice in her memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
