Frances Ann Schultz

Fran Schultz, age 84 of Hastings, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2019 at Augustana Care of Hastings. Fran was born in Baggs, Wyoming on September 17, 1934. She was the daughter of Lucy Irene (Jons) and Lloyd Levere Benning. She met Kenneth Albert Schultz while he was in the US Army and the two built their first home in Omaha, Nebraska. In the 1970’s they moved to Hastings, Minnesota and raised their two children there. Fran was a foster mother for many years and later worked at Smead Company. After retiring, she became a crisis care provider. In her spare time, Fran enjoyed making dolls, crocheting, and taking photographs. Her passion was selling Avon products. Fran was a feisty and hilarious lady. She had a very sarcastic sense of humor and a lot of personality. She was also artistic and made a lot of artwork. Fran truly cherished her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Albert Schultz; her daughter, Sandra Sue Adell; and her siblings, Mildred Lucy, June, Betty Jean, and Vera Rose. She will be missed by her son, Steven (Tammy) Schultz of Eau Claire, WI; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, in Hastings with Gordon Gathright presiding. The family invites friends to join them for a gathering from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
