Fonda “Nana” lived an intellectually rich life, leading every day with an adventurous heart and free spirit. She loved quietly and deeply.
Fonda Lee Negley, 72, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, passed away on March 27th 2026 at Boden Senior Living.
Fonda was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 25th 1954. She enjoyed many hobbies, so much so, she needed extra storage room to house all her supplies. She loved rocks/crystals/minerals, jewelry making, bead work, sewing, cooking/baking, reading, writing poetry, crossword puzzles, getting into mischief, and joke telling.
Fonda was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben Thorson (Rita) and Selma Bach (Bill).
Fonda is survived by her daughter, Ammie Nelson (Mike); grandchildren, Cameron (Jordan), Jillian, and Joshua Nelson; brothers, Mark (Heidi) and Peter (Becky) Thorson; and sister, Lori Cockerham (Kevin); step siblings, Perry Bach and Patti Kaiser; as wells many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Boden Senior Living and Lifespark Hospicefor all the loving, compassionate, and gentle care they provided.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 16th 2026 from 1-3 pm at the Nelson’s family home, 26988 Long Ridge Drive, Elko New Market, MN 55020. We want to share food, drink, and laughs as we celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman. If able, please wear something in the purple color family.
