Florence M. Moles

Florence Mary Moles, age 96, of Hastings, formerly of Edina, died at the Regina Nursing Home in Hastings on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. Florence was born on December 7, 1911 to James and Mary (Angus) Irwin in Ainsworth, Nebraska. She was a former employee of Lyle Sign Co. in Bloomington, MN and a former member of Normandale Lutheran Church in Edina.Florence had been a volunteer at Fairview Southdale Hospital, enjoyed travel and spending time on her daughter's horse farm and attending horse shows.She had been a resident of Hastings since 1993, active with Our Saviour's Women's Circle and was an avid Bridge player. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Milton J. Wied, Fred Peters, and James J. Moles,and her seven siblings. Florence is survived by her daughter Mary (Norm) Strohfus of Hastings, son Rev. Kurt (Mary) Wied of Benedict, MN; step-children Beth (Terry) McCabe, Nan (Dave) Barton, James (Elaine) Peters, and Marnette (Orval) Johnson; also 4 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Menke will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, May 19th at Our Saviour's Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings with a visitation held at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials are Preferred.
