Florence J. "Flo" Bauer

Florence J. "Flo" Bauer, age 82 of Inver Grove Heights, died peacefully at Sholom Home East on Thursday morning, December 30, 2021, following complications from a recent stroke. Florence Josephine, the daughter of John and Susan (Siebenaler) Bauer, was born on January 4, 1939, in New Trier. She grew up on the Bauer Farm north of New Trier. She attended grade school in New Trier and enjoyed playing teacher with her siblings. Florence was a longtime employee at Red Lobster where she enjoyed the many friendships she made over the years. In her free time, Flo enjoyed watching old sitcoms on TV, listening to Polka music, and getting her hair done. She was a longtime resident at Careco Homes and cherished the many times they were able to do things together. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pauline Becker; and by her brothers-in-law, Gene Becker, Larry Murphy, Gary Cater, and Bob Bathrick. Florence is survived by her siblings, Peter (Jean) Bauer, Mary Cater, Betty Murphy, Lillian (Dan) Hoffman, Adeline (Kenneth) McDonald, Sylvia (James) Kelly, Dorothy (Donald) Waltz, Diane Bathrick, and Gerald (Barb) Bauer; her family at Careco Homes; and by many other relatives and friends. Flo's family would like to especially thank the staff and residents at Careco Homes for their love and care they provided her over the last thirty-seven years, and also most recently to Sholom Homes and HealthPartners Hospice Care for their gentle care given during her final days. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to Lifeworks in memory of Flo.
