Fevzi Aydin

August 1, 1949 — April 10, 2007

Aydin, Fevzi, age 57, of Eagan, passed away April 10, 2007. He was born and raised in Turkey. Fevzi, benefiting from winning a national scholarship, completed his secondary education at an elite science and language government school in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He also greatly treasured his year spent as an AFS exchange student in Carthage, MO. Fevzi graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines (’75) in Electrical Engineering. He worked for NATO Intergrated Communications Systems Management Agency (NICSMA) as the Field Manager in Turkey, from 1978-1982. After relocating to Minnesota and after several years working at Control Data, he worked for the past 20 years as an electrical engineer for Honeywell. Fevzi loved fishing, soccer, volleyball, bowling and coaching high school club soccer.
Fevzi was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ahmet and Fadime Aydin, and brothers Kasim and Bekir. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen “Kate” (Smith), beloved dog, Quincy, brothers, Mithat, Ismet, Avni and niece Canan (Hayrullah) Ipek of Minneola, NY, and extended family including the Paul & Carol Anderson family of Rapid City, the Russel & Virginia Smith family of Apple Valley, and countless friends. Visitation will be Sunday, 4/15/07 2-5 PM at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 147th St. and Garrett Ave. (952-432-2331). The Funeral Service will be Monday 10 AM, visitation one hour before, and a reception following the service at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 W. Co. Rd. 42, Apple Valley (952-432-7273). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “Fevzi Aydin Memorial Scholarship Fund”.
