Fern G. Bartels

Fern G. Bartels, age 82, of Hastings died September 23, 2010 in Prescott, WI.Fern was born February 24, 1928 in Red Wing, MN to Ralph and Ann (Hilden) Miller. She married Silas L. Bartels on June 11, 1949 in Red Wing. Fern loved dancing, playing cards, the color pink, and entertaining. Fern was preceded in death by her parents; husband Silas; and sister Pat Gray. She is survived by her five children Patty (Duane) Jackson of Graham, WA, Bob Bartels (partner David Cyr) of Minneapolis, Terry Bartels of Hastings, Jill (Pat) McCarthy of Hinckley, and Julie (Chris) Stancer of Prescott; also nine grandchildren Cody and Shane Bartels, Amy Fedderly, Katie (Jeff) Hartl, Shannon and Mitch McCarthy, Alex, Sierra and Silas Stancer; also two great-grandchildren Breydon and Ashlyn; and sister Millie (Jerry) Ketcham of Red Wing. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Connie Claxton will be held at 11am Saturday, September 25, 2010 at St. Luke�s Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion St., Hastings, with visitation 1 hour prior to theservice at church. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing. The pallbearers are grandchildren Cody and Shane Bartels, Amy Fedderly, Katie Hartl, Shannon and MitchMcCarthy.
