Ethel M. Flom

Ethel M. Flom, age 92, of Hastings passed away at Augustana Care Center on July 24, 2019. She was born in Carpio, ND on May 29, 1927 to Ada and Roy Clark. She taught in a one room school house in rural ND. She married Kenneth Flom on August 10, 1947 in Mohall, ND. After she had children, she was a homemaker who was active in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and loved to volunteer. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, and her great memory. Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; sisters, baby Gertrude, Mavis Nass, and Helen Sandy; brothers, Burton, and Jim Clark; great grandson, Henry and daughter-in-law Doris Flom. Ethel is survived by her children, Linda (Bill) Merkling of Rogers, AR; Loren (Kerry) Flom of Hastings; Jerry (Diane) Flom of Hastings; Gail (Jeff) Kummet of Sauk Rapids; and Nancy (Dave) Reinardy of Hastings; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; brothers Harold and Roy Clark; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 30 at 4:00 PM at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. The Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
