Elizabeth M. Peterson

Elizabeth Peterson, former Stonington resident passed away on December 17, 2012 in Hastings, MN. She was born to George and Gertrude (Bown) Millward on December 31, 1915 in Diorite, MI and grew up in Marquette. A graduate of Northern Michigan University, she taught in the Gladstone public schools, and later in the School for the Blind in Kansas City, KS. She married Rev. Clifford Peterson on June 22, 1946 in Marquette, MI. Elizabeth was a gracious person who enjoyed playing the organ and piano, knitting and weaving, the Cotorie and Herb Club, and Elderhostel trips. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Charles Millward, Les Millward, and Gwen Hansen; her husband Rev. Clifford Peterson and infant son, Jory. Elizabeth is survived by sons Tim (Marjorie), Greg (Penny), Rob (Lyn); also five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings, MN on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11 AM. A spring interment will be held in Marquette, MI. Memorials are preferred to the Audubon Society of MI (P.O.
