Elizabeth Kasel

Elizabeth �Betty� Kasel, age 96, of Vermillion, died April 15, 2008 at the Regina Nursing Home in Hastings. Betty was born February 7, 1912 in Vermillion, MN to Theodore and Gertrude (Rother) Holzemer. She married John L. Kasel on September 24, 1935 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion. She was a former Kasel�s Grocery employee in Vermillion for 40 years. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband John L. and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by children Mary Jean (Bud) Burke of Red Wing, Tom (Sharon) Kasel of North Carolina, and Jan (Tom) Niederkorn of Hastings; also 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service, officiated by Fr. Joseph Arackal will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 18 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion, with a visitation held at church 2 hours prior to the service. The interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers are Gary Burke, Michael Burke, Curt Niederkorn, John Niederkorn, Neil Niederkorn, Tom Roob, Mike Haydon, and Jerry Lawrence. The honorary pallbearers are Helen Wood, Doris Kasel, Mary Braun, Melinda Frandrup, Naomi Therres, Anetta Staus, and Katie Kuhn.
