Edward C. Bohn

Edward C. "Ed" Bohn, age 86 of Coates died Thursday, August 14, 2014. Ed was born to Theodore and Martha (Andrews) Bohn on June 9, 1928 in St. Paul, MN.He married Barbara Blanchard on September 10, 1955 in St. Paul and was the owner and operator of the House of Coates restaurant for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara and brother Theodore. Ed is survived by his children Michael (Kim) Bohn of Farmington, Kathleen (Steve) Tarrant of Hastings, Patricia (Tom) Engel of Inver Grove Heights, Robert Bohn of Reno, NV, and Karen Bohn of Hastings; also ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers Richard Bohn of St. Paul and Robert Bohn of Hastings The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Richard Mahoney will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at St. Agathas Catholic Church, 3700 160th St. East, Rosemount. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St, Hastings and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment, with Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post # 1210 will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert D. Bohn, Thomas M. Engel, Ryan E. Strandness, Riley S. Tarrant, Samuel Clark Randy Blanchard. Special thanks to the staff at Augustana Care Center in Hastings for their excellent care.
