Edward A. Lang, age 85, of Hastings, died peacefully November 6, 2016. He was born November 24, 1930 on a farm near Fairmont, OK. Ed became the main support of his family upon the early death of his father. After his marriage to Dorothy Nobis, he continued farming and construction work in Glencoe, OK, before moving his family to Muskogee, OK to work at Callery Chemical Plant. After plant closure, Ed chose Hastings, MN for the relocation of his family, working at Pine Bend refinery until his retirement. Ed enjoyed hunting, woodworking, car repair, reading, “The Old West” and especially traveling, visiting relatives along the way, even in Germany. Throughout long years of ill health, he always retained his wicked sense of humor. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Rosa (Ditgen) Lang; brother, John; sister and brother in law, Alice and Roy Wells. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; daughters, LaDene (Bill) Reed; LaDonna Joseph; Cheryl (Tom Steinmueller); grandchildren, Laura (Noah) Dingler; Dr. Bryan (Jessica) Reed; Crystal Joseph; great grandsons, Jackson and Caleb Reed; Cameron and Kai Dingler; a niece; three nephews; a sister in law; other family and friends. A memorial service, officiated by Gordon Gathright, will be held on Saturday (12/3) at 11:00 AM at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. A gathering will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred for Collett Cemetery in Fairmont, OK.
