Edna "Ed'S" Seidl

Edna M. “Ed’s” Seidl, age 86 of Hastings, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday afternoon, December 30, 2018, at The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale. Edna Mae, the daughter of Emil and Anna (Barr) Radke, was born on July 9, 1932, in “Cow Town” Hastings, Minnesota. On June 11, 1960, Edna was united in marriage to Norman Seidl in Red Wing, and they were blessed with two children and thirty-nine years of marriage prior to his passing on September 14, 1999. Edna first worked at Smead Manufacturing, and later at Regina Medical Center where she worked side-by-side with her sisters. She was also a longtime bartender at the VFW Post 1210 in Hastings, where she was a dedicated member of the VFW Auxiliary as well. She enjoyed hosting the annual fall Booya, tending to her flowers, cooking and hosting family and friends, and most of all, watching the Price Is Right, Let’s Make A Deal, and the Wheel of Fortune. In her younger years, Edna enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and spending time on the river. She will be forever remembered for her love for family, and especially for her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; and by her siblings, Bernice, Ben, Roy “Bill”, Betty Mitzuk, and Marge Reuter. Edna is survived by her daughters, Norma (Michael) Hodorff, and Kim (Jim) Severson; granddaughters, Mandy (Mike) Fangmeier, and Kayla Severson; her great grand pups; and by many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Reverend Jason Thiel officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at church. Private family interment will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning at church. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings.
