Edith R. Larson

Edith R. Larson, age 97 of Hastings and formerly of St. Paul, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2016, at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Edith Ruth, the daughter of Oscar and Ida (Borgstrom) Larson was born in Hastings on April 17, 1919. She was a 1937 graduate of Hastings High School and worked in the healthcare industry as a bookkeeper with Miller Hospital and Dr. Chatterton prior to her retirement. She loved singing in various church choirs over the years as well as spending time with children of all ages. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Elizabeth and Ellen. Edith is survived by her longtime friend, Elaine Zuzek and family of Hastings, as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Visitation will be held for one-half hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
